Everyday shops are close by in Merley, while Wimborne Minster — a mile away, or roughly six minutes by car — offers a proper market town mix of high-street names, independent delis, boutiques and genuinely good restaurants, plus larger supermarkets including Waitrose and Lidl. By road, the A349 runs down to Poole in about six miles, linking to the A35 for Bournemouth; the A31 heads east towards Southampton. Poole and Bournemouth stations give mainline services to London Waterloo. Beaches, Poole Harbour, the New Forest and Cranborne Chase are all easy day trips.
