The neighbourhood has its own primary school, community centre and a growing cluster of independent shops, cafés and small businesses, with Market Street developing as a local centre. For bigger shops, Newquay town has supermarkets, and a Tesco is planned nearby. Secondary education is served by Newquay Tretherras and Newquay Academy, with Truro's schools and colleges around 20 minutes away. Transport is straightforward: the A3058 and A392 link to the A30, Newquay railway station connects to Par for the main line, and Cornwall Airport Newquay is roughly ten minutes by car. Nearly 300 acres of green space includes allotments, parks, an orchard and the Pras Trewolek greenspace with its 3.7km of paths, bird hide and wildflower meadows. Restaurants range from surf-side cafés to well-regarded seafood spots along the coast.
