Living in Arlesey

Arlesey is often described as one of Bedfordshire's best-placed commuter towns, and the station is the main reason why. It's roughly a 20 minute walk or five minute drive from the development, with services reaching London St Pancras in around 40 minutes, plus easy runs to Hitchin, Bedford, Stevenage and on towards Cambridge. The A1(M) is close by for drivers. Several primary schools sit within a couple of miles, with secondary options in Stotfold, Shefford and Hitchin, so families have genuine choice. For day to day shopping there's a Co-op in the village, with larger Tesco, Sainsbury's and Aldi stores in Biggleswade, Letchworth and Hitchin a short drive away. Pubs, village cafés and takeaways cover the basics locally, while Hitchin's market town centre offers independent restaurants, bars and boutiques. The surrounding countryside, Arlesey Lakes and the Greensand Ridge give plenty of scope for walking and cycling at weekends.
