Telford, at a glance
Schools, transport, what’s nearby.
Telford is a well-served Shropshire town with a genuinely handy spread of amenities. The development sits under five miles from the centre, where Telford Shopping Centre, Southwater's cinema and restaurants, and the Telford Town Park are all within a short drive. For everyday shopping, there are Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Aldi stores across the town, with smaller Co-op and convenience options closer to hand. Families have a good choice of primary and secondary schools in the Priorslee, St Georges and Donnington areas, several rated well by Ofsted, plus Telford College for post-16 study. Transport is a strong point: the M54 links west to Shrewsbury and east to the M6 and Wolverhampton, while Telford Central and Oakengates stations run services towards Birmingham and Shrewsbury. Nearby you'll find Ironbridge Gorge, Apley Woods and the Shropshire countryside for weekends, plus pubs and independent eateries in Newport and Shifnal a short drive away.
