Living in Cardiff

Afon Las sits off Llantrisant Road at Radyr, where the suburbs of north-west Cardiff give way to the Taff valley and open countryside. Radyr itself has the feel of a village that happens to be close to a capital city — a parade of independent shops and cafés, sports clubs, and the wooded walks of Radyr Woods and Hermon Hill on the doorstep. The Taff Trail runs nearby, following the river all the way into the city centre and out towards Castell Coch and the Garth. Day-to-day essentials are close: Radyr Medical Centre is within a short walk, and there's a large Asda a little over a mile away. Radyr station is under a mile off, with trains running into central Cardiff. Ysgol Gynradd Groes-wen is the nearest primary, roughly three-quarters of a mile away, and Radyr Comprehensive the closest secondary. St Fagans National Museum of History, with its re-erected historic buildings and woodland grounds, is a short drive south and free to enter.
