Schools, transport, what’s nearby.

Shrivenham is a proper working village rather than a commuter dormitory, with an old church, stone cottages and a high street you can reach on foot from the development along a dedicated path. There are independent shops, a pharmacy, a post office and a couple of pubs, plus an active community hub and sports and golf clubs that newcomers tend to find the quickest way into village life. The surrounding landscape is the big draw: this is the northern edge of the Vale of White Horse, with the Ridgeway National Trail, Uffington Castle and the Uffington White Horse itself a short drive south, and Wayland's Smithy and Ashdown House within easy reach for walkers. Faringdon and its folly lie east, Swindon west, and Oxford further on. The A420 runs past the village linking Swindon and Oxford, with the M4 a few miles south. Shrivenham's long association with the Defence Academy gives the village an unusually mixed, outward-looking population.
