Birdham CE Primary School serves the village, with Bishop Luffa School and Chichester High School among the well-regarded secondary options in the city. Chichester itself offers the Festival Theatre, cathedral, independent shops and a strong choice of restaurants and pubs; closer to home, the Crown & Anchor at Dell Quay and the cafés around Chichester Marina are local favourites. For shopping, there's a Tesco Express and farm shops nearby, with larger Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose stores in Chichester. Chichester station runs direct trains to Brighton, Portsmouth and London Victoria, while the A27 links east to Arundel and Worthing and west towards Portsmouth. Sailing, walking the harbour paths and cycling the Salterns Way are part of everyday life here.
